ANTONIA TIGER

Use this pattern to make tiger quilts in two sizes or a 20” x 20” quilted pillow cover. Each block is made using three different values of the same color: a light value (low-volume) fabric, a mid-tone fabric, and a bright fabric, plus a dark solid fabric for the eyes and stripes, so making this quilt can be a fun exercise in working with different color values.

The blocks are made entirely of square and rectangular pieces sewn together using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing!

Print patterns are currently available in stores (a quick web search is a good way to find them!). A pdf version of the pattern is available here. A list of my wholesale distributors can be found here.

My sample quilt and pillow were made using low-volume prints from my Library collection for the Light Face Fabrics, Manchester Wovens for the Soft Face Fabrics, and Kona Solids for the Bright Face Fabrics. My Dark Solid Detail Fabric is Kona Pepper and my Background Fabric is Essex Yarn-Dyed Nutmeg. As of April 2020, all of these fabrics, including a kit for the Small Quilt, are available for wholesale order from Robert Kaufman Fabrics. We expect the fabrics and kits to start showing up in stores in May 2020. You can download a fabric guide showing the specific fabrics I used.
