CRYSTAL CLUSTER

Crystal Cluster includes instructions for making the same bold starburst quilt design in three sizes, plus a pillow. Everything is made using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing! This is a perfect project for featuring your favorite colors and prints, and the pattern includes a detailed color chart that can be used to duplicate the fabrics I used, or as a guide for organizing your own fabrics. Instructions for using scraps are also included.

PRINT PATTERNS, FABRICS, AND KITS

The Crystal Cluster Lap Quilt and Pillow pictured on this page were made with Robert Kaufman’s Kona Cotton Solids. A detailed color chart is included in the pattern, which is shipping to my wholesale distributors now.

The background fabric on both of my samples is AZH-19679-410 from my Paintbox collection for Robert Kaufman. I recommend using this or a similarly soft tone for the background of your quilt - enough to give a little contrast with the light solid block background, but not so much that the contrast competes with the graphic look of the colorful triangles.

As part of its January 2021 release, Robert Kaufman is selling a kit to make Crystal Cluster Lap Quilt. It includes the pattern and all of the same fabrics I used to make the quilt top and binding in my sample. Shops can order the kits from Robert Kaufman now, for shipping later this Spring (which is when you will start to see them in shops.)
