NORM & NANETTE FEATURING PAINTBOX

All of the gnome blocks in this 68” x 75” quilt are made with precut packages of 10” squares including a custom Kona Coordinates stack for the faces, hair and block details. All of the gnomes’ hats, clothes, and boots are made with 10 Square packs of the Sunshine, Meadow, and Winter palettes of my Paintbox collection. The only other fabric you need is Essex Yarn-Dyed Homespun Indigo for the background!

Your favorite shop can order these precuts from Robert Kaufman Fabrics now for shipping in September 2020.

NORM & NANETTE PATTERN

Gnome siblings Norm and Nanette can be pieced using conventional patchwork techniques. The gnomes’ hats are cut using the included full-size cutting guide and pieced using a shortcut method that avoids fussy matching of points. Everything else is made using squares and rectangles and conventional patchwork techniques. No paper piecing!

This pattern is precut-friendly, using 10” x 10” squares to make all of the gnomes’ hats, clothes, and boots. That means it’s also a great project for using scraps! The materials requirements on the pattern back show yardages for making all of the faces, hair, and beards the same. The pattern also includes cutting guides for using 10” squares to make the individual gnome’s hair, faces, and bears from different fabrics, as well as a guide to Kona Solid colors that work well for creating different skin tones and hair colors.
